"resolutions" for the new year...

i rarely make these. i usually just give myself goals all year round. this year i decided on 2. maybe if i write them out, it'll help "make it happen".

1-work up to eating 1 fruit every day
2-work up to eating 1 vegetable (serving) every day

those may seem small but for me they are big. my worst problem is buying food in the store then never eating it. that'll be the big thing to push through for me. the actual daily intake. something has to balance out my breads/protein and sugar.

the hardest part is not dousing my veggies in ranch or my fruit in carmel.

i plan to begin slowly..maybe going for 4 times a week on each. i do like fruit and veggies...until i'm at home and hungry and they don't look appetizing.

You'll do it. Grow your own, in a pot on a patio or balcony, makes you feel you have to eat them then.

neds great at growing but our apartment deck gets no direct sun. his poor tomatoes barely made it last year..but when we have space we'll definately have a garden growing. i've been watching a lot about peak oil and becoming self-sustaining is definately what we want to work towards in the next 4 years.

I had no luck growing much of anything last year, except squash out front, where sun hits. Squash are easier to grow than most vegetables I think though. Plant seeds and forget, in a way. The job losses up here are escalating. I don't know how people are going to make it.
