we have both gotten new job assignments this week so that is exciting. i'm in bham & N goes up to Ferndale [at least not as far as Blaine]. i don't want to get too over excited, buti really like what i've been doing there.. it's basically the same thing as my last few jobs as sales ass[istant].

AT&T is horrible..Worst Customer Service EVER!!!
i don't get upset too often. today it happened. i've been a customer of AT&T for Cell Phones since 1999- my first Nokia was with them. i will NEVER be their customer again!
just spent over an hour on the phone on hold waiting to talk to a "manager". i wasn't upset about the hold time, i've worked in customer service & understand that. i also wasn't annoyed with the reps that first took my call, since i knew they wouldn't be able to help me.
Finally a Resolutions Manager- Kyle Saucier - decided to take my call, off the 35 minute hold time i'd been on that que.
Why did I call:
To cancel my phone plan since moving up to washington, i haven't had any coverage. i called to cancel my account with no fees--only because-- I DON'T GET COVERAGE!
AT&T response to longtime customer:
tough!! you have to either: a) pay the termination fee $95
b) continue to pay $66 a month for your bill for the next 11 months (until 1/7012) or
c) some weird "trade-plan"- something of which i wasn't getting involved in as it's "new" & "great" ..hahah
their argument is that when i signed my 2 year contract, in 7/2010, i COMMITTED to paying for the new phone i received. I tried to explain to Kyle that at that time, i paid about $40 out of my pocket for this "upgrade" AS WELL AS upgrading my monthly plan by an extra $15 a month. at the time i signed up this phone was "worth" $150 and they take off $4 a month that you are in contract...BUT i also paid at least $40 of my own making the phone $190??? NO WAY!!
Kyle was pretty rude. he insisted that even though AT&T couldn't give me coverage at my new location, it was my fault because i moved there. I should have "read my contract" where i "committed" to paying for the phone for 2 years-- AT&T says their reasoning is because they get phones at a discount & pass on to you...what discount..where???? I thought my 2 year contract also would hold AT&T to providing the service as well. I do not get the SERVICE they contracted with me for (now under false pretenses). AT&T now places limits on where people can live based on where their service is--or pay up the ass to cancel out, which is what i'm doing. $160 to end this. Kyle was nice enough to sarcastically let me know that there are taxes as well, since we live in the US. i thanked him for treating me like a moron & told him that was extremely unprofessional. I've been a supervisor in a call center & i've never treated anyone the way i was treated when they had a legitimate complaint against the company that was in no way their fault. i would go out of my way..but that's why people liked OAKLEY warranty & the company..stand by the product & the customer!
FUCK AT&T -- prepaid from walmart all the way now. i'll NEVER recommend AT&T based on how they treat longtime customers.
anyone with any horror stories similar, feel free to comment or contact me directly. this is similar to what chase did to me by charging $10 a month for a Checking Account--if your workplace doesn't provide direct deposit..$120 a year for a checking account? looking into the legality on this.

WAMU buy-out by Chase..issue 1 & 2
now the buy-out has directly affected little ole me.
1] Chase raised my minimum payment 32%!! that's about 32$. i've never been late on my Wamu card and I always paid a little more then required to boost my credit with them. fat lot o'good that did me. i called Chase to ask them about this and to see if they could help me. they said i now have to establish credit with them! so my years at Wamu (over 23!) mean absolutely nothing to anyone anymore.
2] the Chase cc has an APR of 21.99%!! Wamu customers receive no grace period of a lower APR or one that matched their current Wamu APR. for instance; you sign up for a Chase credit card, you get a year {or some amount of time} with a low or no APR rate. it's on their website (i was looking). BUT if your bank is bought out by Chase (through no fault of your own) you have to accept their higher APR OR the other option the customer service girl gave me--she could close my account!
i guess they don't teach retention training in the country i was calling (not the US).
so my attempt to help my financial situation with logic failed miserably. i might try to go into a branch. it's sad because i grew up in WS with Wamu. they were always nice and friendly..even on the phone. after my bk they gave me the first chance with a cc. the charges on my cc are from my head gasket, dental work and a hooka vet trip when she was sick. not even any luxury items. i can't get a new cc now still w/in the 7 yrs from the bk. in case you were wondering why i didn't just get a no APR rate card now and transfer my balance....i've tried!! trust me.

Livenation vs TICKETMASTER
so, i'm bummed/pissed and what better thing to do then blog about it.
i thought live nation was supposed to be better about the fees then ticketmaster (i know they have now merged which isn't good it seems). i got a password from offspring to buy presale tickets for their show in irvine. N was going to get them for me for my bday. i logged on all ready to go. decided on the terrace seating for $29.50 each. i knew there will be fees, but this is what i got:
Ticket: $29.50
Parking Charge (on EACH ticket): $6.00
Ticket Fee: $12.50
so 2 tickets would have cost us about 96 bucks!! for 30 dollar seats..this is with the free mail delivery. i said no. that's too much right now to waste on fees and parking [which the venue showed charging 8 bucks a car] we'd be paying an extra $4--and some people take the bus or get dropped off but are still charged it. LAME
Offspring, i'm pretty disappointed in your choice of ticketers. Pearl Jam & other bands find ways around the BS fees for their fans. i've seen dexter & the boys twice already and really wanted N to see them since they do an awesome show--but not $100 awesome when i can't get a interview callback. i was even planning to make a Gringo Bandito shirt to wear.
bummer..lame birthday. thanks for the letdown guys. no wonder less and less people are going to concerts this year..when will the bands get that it's not the price of tickets we don't agree wiith, it's all the extra costs.

sounds of winter...
this morning a co-worker came in. he was full of the "sounds of winter". by that i mean hacking up his lungs, sniffing and in general crankiness.
why do people do that?
why do they go to work then proceed to complain all day about how sick they are, how crappy they feel yadda yadda but then don't go home?
GO HOME!! i have not been sick this season yet. neither has N and we'd like to keep it that way, thank you.
i just don't get it...this is what sick time is for and we just got our allotment for 08.
the joys of not being able to work from home.
