Tim Hetherington, the oscar winner for co-directing Restrepo was killed in Lybia (today/yesterday). they were walking on the front-line when an RPG exploded. he was killed. 2 other photographers were injured severely; one with brain injuries & the other with shrapnel.
UPDATE-Chris Hondros died from brain injury.
Tim's last twitter: "In besieged Libyan city of Misrata. indiscriminate shelling by Qaddafi forces. No sign of NATO"

why can't we all be Buddhist in our ways of thinking & treating each other? a tragic loss for the world as his humanitarian stories will no longer be told. i never met him, but watching his documentaries & reporting, he gave me eyes to parts of the world i could never have on my own.
