shopping trip...

saturday we got up early & went to ikea. they sent us their catalog in the mail & on the 4th was a great sale--sheet sets for $10. there were 3 to choose from, but each person was only allotted 2 (or the price went up at the register when you paid). so i hauled N along so i could get all 3...nope i didn't get 4 because we didn't need 4.

had a nice breakfast in the cafe. the total was under $5 for both of us to eat with coffee. the bacon was crispy & the hashbrown potatoes were cook thoroughly. thumbs up!

i've come to understand, after a few trips to ikea, it's not only a good idea, but mandatory for my sanity to have a list & a game plan. going on off hours is also VERY important. i've discovered friday nite is a great time. getting in right when it opens also works, since people don't tend to get up too early in these parts on a weekend.

we are familiar with the layout of the store which is a BIG help to not getting frustrated or lost. N is great as a co-pilot. we always have a list since we only go to ikea about once every 6 months. if you know what to get there, it's a great deal.
dealing with the store layout, other people & self check-out is the challenge..of course since ikea doesn't have plastic bags anymore, you either buy bags when you check out, balance everything in crazy stacks you're carrying OR bring you own bags. we always make a note on the list to bring bags.

i got a new cat toy. they've taken out the pet section but as most people with kids know, the toys are interchangeable. so for $9.99 this is what i bought.
