Happy New Year 2019!
a lot has changed in the past few years. N left while living down in Huntington Beach. said he needed a night away (which had never happened in the 14.5 years previously). during the night he changed his cell phone #, stopped answering any emails and basically disappeared. I went to his work parking lot a couple days later to try to talk to him about what was going on.. we has a lease in both our names, all his stuff was still at the apartment ect.
what did he do? called the cops on me, had me escorted off the property and banned from South Coast Plaza. i'm not Jerry Springer (no offense) so that was it. a sign for sure. the ultimate ghosting of someone.
talked to the apartment manager about the situation. my bro came down. packed up my stuff (left a ton of stuff that was "ours" & went to return my work pass. in the 1 hour I was gone he came in & took hooka cat away. obviously watching the apartment as it was the only time in 5 days I left. as horrible as him leaving, taking her without any conversation broke me. packed up Weezie, Tim & Samson and went back to Washington..much to my dismay as I LOVED Huntington Beach & didn't want to leave at all. with his unwillingness to have any type of civil conversation & still having access to the apartment I had no choice. hardest decision I've ever made. had to leave sweet Meeko since he wasn't technically my cat, but I woulda have taken him if I could,
result..
Meeko died about a month or so later after having to go back to his horrible living situation.(his owners had a dog, kid & another on the way, but couldn't handle the cat they had before all that??) so put him in a warehouse with no love. sweetest cat too!
Hooka died as well. not sure when, how or why. that I have to file in a closed drawer in my mind as it's too painful to think about. I know she would have lived longer with me..i know that!
N talked to me on the phone 1 time a couple months after then nothing...after 14.5 years
his parents never reached out either.
spent the last 3.5 years trying to deal with it all..the questions, answers ect
he's moved on as his girlfriend enjoys posting on her FB page (pretty much the same pictures we've had on the blog for years) bizarre is the only word I can think of to type.
back in Seattle now. trying to figure out a career for the next 20-25 years.
would move back to HB in a heartbeat. dealing with the anger that he took that choice away from me has been one of the hardest things. (other than Hooka & Meeko)
i'm an adult and not into drama. I understand people "fall out of love" and can have a mature discussion about that, but that was never presented as an option. he just ran away from me & started up with someone else. was he cheating? was he on drugs? I've heard things from people but I truly have no idea. I was that blind in our relationship I suppose.
lessons learned.
would I like some closure/answers? of course, who wouldn't (man or woman) after such a long time together. but I highly doubt i'll ever get that so...
onward & upward. Hadn't blogged about it but feel the need to release it now. Weezie has pass on recently, but Samson & Tim are still doing well.

VOTE BOB BURR
10/22/13
Christmas in October..It's Voting Time!!!
we got our ballots in the mail this weekend, 2 days after the voters guide.
VOTE BOB BURR for City Council!!!!
we watched a debate that Burr & Murphy participated in on the local public access channel. sure, they both agree on the basics; as both are democrats.
Burr cited specific changes he wants to make in Bellingham. He addressed, the lack of living wages & that without those, economic growth is hard to achieve. He voiced his opinion on the Coal Train---NO!! His answers showed knowledge & experience of the Bellingham issues & how those might be helped. He has no multitude of special group endorsements with their conflicting visions of what they want Bellingham to be.
Murphy gave her same vague, high school election type answers which worked in Tacoma, but Bellingham isn't Tacoma. [I was downtown Tacoma a month ago & it was scary & deserted. Some antiques shops are trying, but mostly aggressive panhandling & I didn't feel a sense of community in the store owners. I DON"T want this to happen in downtown Bellingham. Downtown may be small, but it's homey to me.] She didn't make any connections to Bellingham in her answers on the TV debate..just shaky babble about social services, business zoning, being a Nooksack Tribe member & outdoor space??? huh?
there's a COAL TRAIN about to rumble through Whatcom County & she can't give her real opinion about it due to the plethora of endorsements she has from over 15 special interest associations in Bellingham. How will she please them all? They can't ALL want the exact same things...I've NEVER heard her give a real opinion on any Bellingham issue.
Women, please don't vote for a women because she's a women.
Vote for the candidate that will strive to keep your town clear of coal noise, pollution & train track waiting time! VOTE Bob Burr!!!!!

Lewis Black...in Bham!!!
the 1 thing i wanted for xmas, N got us.
tickets to see Lewis Black in Bham!! they were priiiicey, but it was totally worth it.
the show was last nite so we were up late.
he performed for over an hour!! it was great. the opening act was funny too. my cheeks haven't hurt that bad in a long time from laughing. it really felt good..what great medicine haha
i have his book on religion and brought with me. at the end of the show, he signed ticket stubs.we waited our turn. i got my book & stub signed. N took a picture of me & LB (on real film..not digital so it will develop on real paper for framing :)) then i mentioned to him how if you close your eyes when listening to Joe Biden speak, he has a bit of a George Carlin thing. maybe George is trying to come back us & help straighten things out?
i wonder what famous comedian bham will have next year. there's only 1 a year here..rumor has is Daniel Tosh was here a few years ago. it's still talked about LOL

checkin in...
still alive. not too much going on here the past couple weeks. job searching in a city with no jobs. even if it took a couple months down south to find a job, at least many jobs are advertised daily & i can get interviews. here there's just no jobs advertised.
kelly temp hasn't been busy either. my last job with them was in September, so i've been trying on my own the past month.

cake decorating (very) 101
a few weeks ago our friend Q had his bday. M always makes some great cakes, last year she did his shop! (she's 11..12?) i loved the flowers she had made & asked about it. turns out her & M (M&M) are taking classes at the michaels by us wednesday nites.
i was excited & started bugging M about it. she called the teacher that nite to see if she could bring me to the next classes. it was ok, so off i went.
turns out there's a LOT of prep & clean-up to the classes. i missed the first class which was how to make icing, so i took the easy route & bough the thin & medium wilton icing from the store.
week 2: working on our first cake with the techniques learned with the fancy icing tips. week 3: cupcakes, more tip use & flowers. week 4: the final. we brought in a pre-frosted cake we had made that week. the we learned the basics on making flowers on the stands..very tricky!!
if you're curious...

Big B gets married despite Wenatchee fires!
this past weekend we headed to the east side of the state for N&A's friend Big B's wedding! they have known him since college, each guy living with him at different times in college life. (the "Big" in "Big" B references his height, not weight).
friday nite we spent in mazama sleeping in the Fair Maid Marion. we got over early enough to go to winthrop to see B&S friday nite.
saturday we headed thru the smoke & down the columbia river to wenatchee.
*they had to rearrange the entire wedding a WEEK before due to all the fires. i was so amazed at how awesome everything turned out, knowing that!
we headed back to winthrop that nite to break up the drive home. winthrop is always nice & they have an awesome coffee place called Noca House. the whip cream is made fresh!!

we ALL have goodness..
The realization of the nature of the mind is not something we can find by searching for it from afar.
It is present within the essence of the mind itself. If we do not alter or change that in any way, that is enough.
It is not as if we were lacking something before, so we need to make something new through our meditation.
It is not as if we are bad and have to go through all sorts of efforts to make ourselves good.
Goodness is something we all have. It has always been with us, but we have just not looked for it or seen it yet, so we have become confused.
Therefore all we need to do is to just rest within it without changing it. We see where it stays and rest there, so we are like a kusulu. This means that we rest free and easy with nothing to do, very simply.
We do not need to think that we are making something good or that we need to meditate properly. It is enough just to know what we already have

hfn phone home?
hope all are having a good summer, it’s just about over it seems up north.
i’ve been temping the past few months so that’s good. the computer there crashes constantly. when i get home, i’ve OVER the computer which is why i’ve been so silent the past couple months.
nothing exciting or bad has been going on, just same ole. hoping this temp project will be finished in the next month so i can get a new assignment.
we did a camping trip to Winthrop a couple weeks ago. unfortunately, the pictures i took were accidentally deleted by myself. we’ve been garage sale-ing on Saturday mornings & auctioning every other saturday.
cats are doing good. Hooka is still pulling out hair so she’s on crazy pills once a day & has the royal collar on when we aren’t around. i’ve been feeding a feral cat i’ve now named Samson. he comes by our place for food. we are going to get him fixed soon so he can come in inside eventually. he’s so gorgeous. all black and strong! but was so thin. someone just dumped in out apartment complex. i’ve also been flea treating him the past 2 months. Tim loves to hang out on the inside of the screen when Samson is out back.
just checking in..we’re still here & alive! more soon….

totally bumming on this news! it is nice knowing he was a Buddhist so maybe i'll see him in another form.
what a great loss to the world. he made "free tibet" a national campaign, hopefully his vision will live on.

10 year ago today...
i began day 2 of my trip north from Huntington to Bellingham, waking up in Gold Beach, Oregon for the last leg of the drive. my geo tracker was loaded to the gills. up early, i left before dawn. highway 101 was icy. my tracker spun out & i was stuck facing west instead of north. a semi was barrelling down the road close behind me [part of the reason i had been driving faster than i should have]. before i could get the chance to restart my car & move safely to the side, he came roaring around the corner, saw me in his lights & pitched his rig into the side of the road. he hit the back of my tracker, spinning me around but thank god not off the road. all i could do when i saw his headlights was scream, i can only imagine the look on my face if he was able to see me that close.
the cops came. neither of us got a ticket so no fault. i had to beg the AAA tow truck guy to do a quick fix on my bumper so i could continue northward. this wasn't the end of my day. around Portland back on I5 is started snowing! it snowed through Seattle. by the time i made it to the skagit casino, i could go no farther in my tracker. less than 20 miles from my destination, i again begged another AAA tow truck driver to take me the rest of the way & he did. he was even freaked out driving in the storm with his fancy tow truck. once we made it to bellingham & a short push from the gas station to the driveway i was here [for the first time]. that night N & i started dating each other & have been together since. a couple of stat to state moves, cats, cars & more we're still having a great time.
i love you!

fun gifts...
even though we were a lot lower key for xmas this year than in years past, i still managed to rack up quite a nice cache of goodies-a helmet & padded shorts for skiing. N & my bro also got some great things. there are a couple pics below. i decided NOT to blog on xmas, not sure why..fighting the man?
it was really nice to have a fun holiday after getting my f-off letter from my latest interview. i'm also really thankful for Kelly Services hiring me back & getting me/keeping me working pretty steadily for the past couple months. i know the more jobs i can do, the more i can get with them. the girls that work there are really nice & supportive of me. N got a gig with Kelly starting tomorrow. So happy & excited for him!

Costumes..
saturday nite we dressed up & went to town. M&Q have a friend who was singing at an art gallery in town. it's been a while since we've been to see live music. it was also cool to be able & walk around the gallery to see the paintings, photos & artworkl. we all dressed up--some shots below if you...
Pumpkins & Bellingham Comicon..
last weekend we had a great time. saturday morning we woke up & headed out toward the 3rd Annual Bellingham Comicon (up in Ferndale). it was pretty cool, not as big as San Diego :) but there was a great turnout when we were there in the morning. folks were dressed up in star wars costumes for the contest later. we didn't stay too long (sadly i ran out of money). it was great to see how much local support the convention received being so far up north.
later that afternoon N's folks, Bro, niece & nephew came up to visit for the night. it was great to see them as usual. it was the first time we've meet M&J (nephew & niece) & they warmed up fast to everyone. that afternoon N had a pumpkin craving treat set up.
to see pictures of the comicon , Grim Reaper & Bat Cat Pumpkins,

AT&T is horrible..Worst Customer Service EVER!!!
i don't get upset too often. today it happened. i've been a customer of AT&T for Cell Phones since 1999- my first Nokia was with them. i will NEVER be their customer again!
just spent over an hour on the phone on hold waiting to talk to a "manager". i wasn't upset about the hold time, i've worked in customer service & understand that. i also wasn't annoyed with the reps that first took my call, since i knew they wouldn't be able to help me.
Finally a Resolutions Manager- Kyle Saucier - decided to take my call, off the 35 minute hold time i'd been on that que.
Why did I call:
To cancel my phone plan since moving up to washington, i haven't had any coverage. i called to cancel my account with no fees--only because-- I DON'T GET COVERAGE!
AT&T response to longtime customer:
tough!! you have to either: a) pay the termination fee $95
b) continue to pay $66 a month for your bill for the next 11 months (until 1/7012) or
c) some weird "trade-plan"- something of which i wasn't getting involved in as it's "new" & "great" ..hahah
their argument is that when i signed my 2 year contract, in 7/2010, i COMMITTED to paying for the new phone i received. I tried to explain to Kyle that at that time, i paid about $40 out of my pocket for this "upgrade" AS WELL AS upgrading my monthly plan by an extra $15 a month. at the time i signed up this phone was "worth" $150 and they take off $4 a month that you are in contract...BUT i also paid at least $40 of my own making the phone $190??? NO WAY!!
Kyle was pretty rude. he insisted that even though AT&T couldn't give me coverage at my new location, it was my fault because i moved there. I should have "read my contract" where i "committed" to paying for the phone for 2 years-- AT&T says their reasoning is because they get phones at a discount & pass on to you...what discount..where???? I thought my 2 year contract also would hold AT&T to providing the service as well. I do not get the SERVICE they contracted with me for (now under false pretenses). AT&T now places limits on where people can live based on where their service is--or pay up the ass to cancel out, which is what i'm doing. $160 to end this. Kyle was nice enough to sarcastically let me know that there are taxes as well, since we live in the US. i thanked him for treating me like a moron & told him that was extremely unprofessional. I've been a supervisor in a call center & i've never treated anyone the way i was treated when they had a legitimate complaint against the company that was in no way their fault. i would go out of my way..but that's why people liked OAKLEY warranty & the company..stand by the product & the customer!
FUCK AT&T -- prepaid from walmart all the way now. i'll NEVER recommend AT&T based on how they treat longtime customers.
anyone with any horror stories similar, feel free to comment or contact me directly. this is similar to what chase did to me by charging $10 a month for a Checking Account--if your workplace doesn't provide direct deposit..$120 a year for a checking account? looking into the legality on this.
