In&Out has excellent grilled cheese. i get them with no lettuce (i have texture issues with warm, soft lettuce) & Animal Style. then shove full of their bomb ass french fries. N got his hamburger Mustard Fried which also comes with pickles.

we had a burn pile a couple weeks ago to clear up stuff for winter. it took a solid 3 hours of work. here are some pictures of the pile of ashes we had towards the end. would have been great coals for walking on.

Witco Wood & Metal Cat Wall Art

got this recent find at an estate sale on 1/2 price day! i haven't seen many online that are both wood & metal. there are lots of Witco wood cats, but no added metal accent. this company did the furniture for Elvis Presley's Jungle Room at Graceland. they also did a lot of "shag" style art & leaders in the Tiki rage.

i can't wait to find some more Witco art. this is why i go to garage sales, not only for something cool; but to learn all about a new(old) company & their great history in Americana Culture!

labor day sunday we rafted the stilly river. i was pleasantly surprised that the parking at the front & bottom of the river wasn't full up. it's about a 4.5 hour float.

this weekend was busy with fun stuff. saturday we went up the mountain & went shootin. we like to go shooting a lot, but with the cost & nonavailability of ammo now days, it's not as often. N had bought a real target, so i was able to see my shots. turns out my aim with a 9mm is dead on about 35 feet out. also good with my uncle don's wooden 22 rifle. it's so smooth to shoot. from Sears originally & has all the paperwork for it. aim dead on & no kick. so sweet.

sunday the 3 of us went out in the Blue Raven for a trip overnite to Sucia Island in the san juans. this was a quick trip since we weren't sure how the cats would do with the overnighter. trip out was smooth...if only i hadn't had to go to the bathroom about an hour in. yikes! but i made it to the island.

here are some in house pictures of Samson. him & tim get along really well! they wrestle & tim takes advantage of samson scratching his head, since it's hard for tim with only 1 leg. :) tim is actually the instigator with the two of them, even though he's half samson's size.
